As it turned out, the creation of vehicles equipped with solar panels - the inheritance of not only the developed and rich countries. Finally, such developments were engaged and we have. My own university ( NTU ... photo).
The aim of the developers was to create a hybrid electric vehicle by maximizing the use of force to install the base car with the lowest possible refinement of electrical and mechanical components. As a result of the additional equipment, besides the necessary electronics needed as DC drive motor 20 kW and 10 lead-acid starter batteries for the 100 A. h each. Of course, the more viable option would be to use lighter, more capacious nickel- metal hydride or lithium battery or even traction lead-acid batteries, but the pilot used a sample of the most affordable components, placing them in the rear of the car.
Now the novelty passes road test. I think this project is the most scientific and practical and educational than commercial. In the successful production of this car, and even in our country, I believe it is weakly. It is unlikely that such a class of cars will be much in demand to domestic consumers in the coming years. But the project is of interest primarily as a means of drawing attention to this area. I wish the authors success.
